Official ILL Policies
Interlibrary loan (ILL) is available to all current SHU students, faculty, and staff. Only items not owned by Reeves Library may be requested; you will receive a confirmation email when your request has been processed. If you do not receive a confirmation email within a few days of placing your request, you should contact the library to ensure that your request was received.
Please allow 1-2 weeks for an item to arrive. You will be notified by email when your materials are at the library.
Interlibrary loan is a free service, but fines will be added to a requestor’s account in the following circumstances:
A $1.00 charge per requested item, if it is owned by Reeves Library
Search Journal Finder for titles of periodicals.
Search HillCat for all other items.
A $5.00 charge for each book that is not picked up by the due date, or each article that is not picked up within 30 days
$1.00 per day per item overdue charge for all books, sound recordings, etc.
Borrowing periods for ILL materials are set by the lending library and vary according to each institution’s policies.
Interlibrary loans cannot be renewed
