As part of a National Chemistry Week contest to collect the most number of non-perishable food items, six chemistry club members held a food drive at a local Giant Eagle. Students from Norwin High School’s Interact Community Service Club also donated food. Many thanks to Kelly Weston ('99), the Interact Club Advisor. 565 total food items were donated to the Center Against Domestic and Sexual Violence in Westmoreland County.

Now that’s food for thought!
On Saturday, November 11th, eleven club members and two faculty members traveled to the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh in order to present chemistry demonstrations to the public in celebration of National Chemistry Week. As this year’s theme was "Kitchen Chemistry," we presented Magic Paper Towel and a Density Column, using common kitchen items.
