Scholarships
Each year,
Seton Hill University administers the Westinghouse Bettwy Memorial
Scholarship Test in Chemistry. Any high school woman in her senior
year is eligible. The award is in the amount of $ 1,000 a year for
four years provided the student maintains a cumulative average of
3.2 and remains a chemistry major. In addition, a Sister Mary Leon
Bettwy Scholarship in the amount of $ 1,000 is awarded upon merit to
a junior chemistry major. The Bettwy scholarships were created in
memory of Sister Mary Leon Bettwy, who served the Chemistry
Department for 16 years.

Modeling Laboratory

unique opportunity in the visual learning of chemistry"- this
computer lab consists of a network of high-end computers with access
to the Internet, to various chemistry programs. And features the
molecular modeling software programs HyperChem 6.0, PC Spartan Plus,
and Molecules 3-D.

Club
American
Chemical Society Student Affiliates Chapter
Annually, since 1993, the chemistry club has been recognized by the
American Chemical Society as one of the top 20 clubs in nation. This
distinction has earned the club the ACS's OUTSTANDING CHAPTER
AWARD. The club is known for its community outreach programs
with elementary schools, girl scouts, and a local women's shelter;
National Chemistry Week and Mole Day celebrations; and participation
in local and national American Chemical Society meetings.
