Design Education
I believe it is important to give students freedom in their design solutions. And at the same time encouraging new, creative solutions by questioning their assumptions and use of visual elements.
I require that my students develop a sound understanding of graphic design theory and perceptual principles and their use in design work. Students are also introduced to the rich history of graphic design.
Today graphic design and technology are linked in a partnership. Students must have a clear understanding of current software used in graphic design through a hands-on approach. Since technology is always changing, a broad understanding of overlapping concepts in software is encouraged.

Fine Art Photography
I use a couple different photography methods in my fine art work. Recently, digital imagery manipulated in Adobe Photoshop software, allows me to change and combine images for the final piece. The other processes I work with are the nonsilver processes of gum dichromate and cyanotype. Both are historic methods of photography developed in the mid 1800’s.
